Off-season strength and power training

Certainly the most rewarding way to cross-train…give a little bit of love back to the trails you ride.  Saturday 18th October 2-5 PM.  Time to do some winter-proofing of trails.  Let us know if you can make it at and we’ll send on instructions and directions.

Trail work Moycullen Woods

Next trail work session in Moycullen Saturday 11th Oct. 9 -11. This should complete the clearing of the new trail through – we are about 75% there! Bring your own tools – loppers, saw, machete, rake, mattock….and tea….I’ll bring the cake. In the meantime, or if you are later, please rake the trail (the new section).

Up-coming Spins and Races.

Tonight (Thurs 25th Sept) sees the return of the Thursday night spins,  starting off today in Derroura @ 7pm.  lights will be needed and if you don’t have any they are available to rent in MBW bike shop in Moycullen.  The weekend sees the last Irish Downhill Mountain series race of the year, It will be held in Carrick Woods in Wicklow and best of Luck to all our members taking part.  Sunday Week sees the return of the Connacht XC Winter League,  Round 1 is in sligo,  See Connacht Mtb League on facebook for all the details,  Finallly October 26th sees the 3rd edition of the Nire Valley Drop XC Race,  and with two distances at 25km and 45km there is a distance there for everybody.  Finally for unoffical spins that happen all the time dont forget to check out our friends @ west coast mtb buddies and way of the gnomes on Facebook.

Please if at all possible avoid Derroura from Oct 2nd till Oct 10th. There is a major Deer shoot taking place over them dates, the rest of October will also see shooting but not as much, If you see signs out please please take note of them and if you still choose to ride please wear hi vis clothing so there is no way you can be mistaken for wildlife. Take care.
